Do you do any gigs south of the border Jacko?

South of the Border (http://www.pedroland.com/)? Hey I've been there on my way to Florida. :-)

Hah!!

I'd love to extend our range to cover even the NorthEast of England - Newcastle to Carlisle - I'm pretty sure Bill the drummer is game too. Unfortunately it's hard enough getting the 2 guitarists to travel south of the Firth of Forth to play gigs in Edinburgh. Talk about parochial.

I love that name, the Firth of Forth.

I always liked A Firth of Fifth myself...

I knew a guy from there. He was arrested, the judge found him guilty and gave him ten years at Leavenworth, or eleven years at Twelveworth, or was it five and ten at Woolworth?
(Thanks to Groucho)

Yes, but can you get stucco?

North of the Border we had an excellent gig. The dancefloor was full from start to finish which is the whole reason for us being there. The only problem of the night was the inexperience of the sound guy who didn't know how to get the monitors working during soundcheck (he had to phone someone else eventually) so the first few songs we were having to beg for more vocals in them.
Coincidental to the way the thread has gone, this Friday we're playing at bar itza (http://www.baritza.com/) a mexican themed bar in Kirkcaldy.

Well Friday's gig was cancelled. They didn't tell us till we got there! At least they were obliged to pay us so the night wasn't a total loss. We spent the night working on some new songs instead.

And this Saturday's gig iin Pitlochry has been cancelled. Apparently the booking guy has been sacked and hadn't booked us in properly. pretty disappointing.
Graeme
-
That's a bummer, Graeme. I assume the guy who got sacked was a club employee, and not your booking agent. I hope you guys can put the band back on stage soon.
Mike

Thanks for the thoughts mike. Our drummer handles all the PR - that's his day job and he's usually very good at it. The place we were due to play had no record of us having been booked in so I guess their original booking agent hadn't put it in the book (or whatever they do). Just as well Bill phoned in advance to confirm as it's a 140 mile round trip.
We're back to our regular PJ Molloys gig in a fortnight. Gives us a chance to learn some new tunes I guess.
