Out of work for 8 months, I answered a craigslist ad and now am playing guitar and bass (on different nights) in the pit band for a production of the Rocky Horror Show. My, my! It's being put on around northern Vermont during the month of May. Very strange to be handed 'real' charts and to be able to read them! All those years of being the most prepared member of my various bar bands bears fruit!
I'll post a photo of my costume (no, no, it's not that, more like Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in a WWII German parade dress jacket and knee boots)
Sincerely,
Michael

Wow!!! Cool gig!!!
Ever since that movie came out, I've thought it would be cool to be in a band that played all of those tunes!

Here's the promised photo. I'll see if I can get an action shot from one of the shows.

I think you look pretty cool Michael. You're just missing the suspenders and fishnets ;-)

Looks fine to me!
When I play some of the gigs that we do, I need a Stab vest LOL!
In fact, the bouncers at the door stop people and ask them if they've got any guns/knives etc.
When they say NO !
He says........well you'd better take these in with you (offering them some!)

In fact,
We've stopped playing our regular Sunday night gig, due to the problems with the crowd!
Sounds daft I know, but EVERY gig sees 5 Police vehicles and at least 1 Ambulance arriving on the scene.
It's not our crap playing..........it's just that it's a VERY Sectarian bar that is all for Celtic football club, and the IRA!!
The singer couldn't take any more last week, and walked off the stage vowing to never play there again.
he still has not changed his mind, so......another paying gig off the agenda!

Sounds vaguely familiar. I was in a band many years ago where it seemed we couldn't play a gig without being raided by the state police (whom I lovingly refer to as the MaStaPo), local police or liquor commision. We thought about changing the name of the band to Cop Magnet! It also seemed like they would pull the raid on the first night of a three night stand effectively killing the crowd for the next two nights...

Yep!!
That's what happens all the time at this bar!
Just for future reference, for anyone coming to Stirling in Scotland.steer WELL clear of
Jackies bar in the west end. I got my bass knocked over during the break (not the Series........I'd NEVER take the Big Guy there!)
