And by the way, Mica, I absolutely love the top. Exactly what I was hoping for and more.  WOW.  Thanks to you and Susan for picking out such a wonderful piece of maple to carve.

They are the greatest aren't they JT?

And by the way I'm on the Big Island going through Merry Monarch this week. (Hula Festival)
You are going to the greatest spot though ya know.
Have fun, and I know the torture. The best I've ever been through!LOL

Hey, Jim!!!

No Bull, Bro. That is the most PHENOMENAL piece of Quilt I've EVER seen on an instrument! It MUST be classed AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA or better
They say good thing come to those who wait!! Can't wait to see the progression from here. Excuse me while I empty my drool bucket...

Wow, Jim, that top is COMPLETELY out of control.  Once it's sanded and finished this is going to be one of the all time great Alembic quilt tops.  Already it reminds me of wind on water.  Which would make a cool name for a Featured Custom, methinx.

Hey thanks, Hifi!  Every time I look at it (which is so often I'm embarrassed) I love it more!

Hi Mica, originally I had discussed getting autographs on the wood itself on the back of the bass.  You thought that would be unwise and after having seen the FREAKING BEAUTIFUL wood there, I've thought the better of it and would rather just have the inside (hidden part) of the electronics cover autographed in permanent ink.

This is not intended to be an inconvenience, so if it is just ignore the request, but what I would like if possible is an autograph by Ron (given the space) and then pass it around the shop/office and let anyone who worked on the order initial/graffitti it to their liking - whatever as long as they don't cover up the autograph!  Anyway, this is just a novelty for my first (don't tell my wife) Alembic!

Please let me know if you have any questions and, again, if it's disruptive in any way just ignore.

Thanks!
Jim

Hey Mica!  I see you've been busy - just posting here to call your attention to the above post.  Figured you might have missed it in the deluge of posts over the last couple weeks. No big deal whether we do this or not - just thought it would be cool if it's not too disruptive.

Thanks!

Hi Mica,

Apparently, a little bird told someone that my MK5 is in finishing?  If you get the chance to snap a pic or two I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

mica

Not quite in finishing, but recently routed. Routing is sort of a subset of carving. You can see there's more carving and fine sanding to go:

Won't be too much longer 'till it's in the finish department.

Hey Mica, thanks for the pic!  Love the way things are turning out!

Hey Mica, My latest carve pics have come up missing.  Can you please replace them when you get the chance?

Thx!

Well darn, I thought we'd seen the last of these hiccups. But Since I know exactly when I posted those, I think I've since corrected the problem, so maybe now we've seen the last of not seeing posted pics (it's also why there was a double post!).

Anywhoo, here's the picture again:
