Here's my latest sketch with actual pictures of the Vermilion top...

Simulating the shine is a very difficult thing, so I'll have to leave the rest up to my imagination...

I LOVE IT!

WOW!
I love that color... There's something retro about the shape and color I love so much...

A little more Shine rendering...
Nothing like the real thing from Mica

The hardest part is going to be waiting for calibration to be complete.

I'm also betting that this is going to be one of the longest FTC threads ever!

 ;)

toma_hawk01

I suggest you save your betting money, because
David's 12-string Bass (6x2) FTC thread is the longest.

But, I understand what you mean. The Dream threads under Hendixclarke was very long, mainly because the edits, were the driving force.

However, FTC thread, is beyond the dreams, its reality. Every detail about the Toma_Hawk, is known and documented.

Therefore technically, my role is is complete.

Thus, I think this thread will be relatively short.

I can't lie, I will drool, after seeing real pictures of the Toma_Hawk bass, for at that  point, the physical appearance is complete.

However, the devil is in the details, and true beauty is beyond the appearance...

I have much comfort, knowing Ron is at the helm, adding his finishing touches, which includes  calibrating... Yes, It will be hard waiting, but Ron's job is critical.

Hi Mica,

As you are surly aware, the battery compartment for the 1976 Short body Series I, is located along the the solid neck through area.

If possible, for the Toma_Hawk, I request to keep the neck through free of any cuts for batteries or any electronics (if possible). I am not sure if we discussed this, but I aware from looking at other basses (Series in particular) you guys don't cut through the neck anymore... Just checking to make sure.

Enzo

Seeing how passionate you are, I'm really happy for you !

To be honest enzo, I believe this experience alone, has added 10 extra years to my life expectancy.

Now, I have a even trade... My wife can take everything else...

Hi Susan/Mica

If I wanted multiple LED colors, is that a major change?

I am thinking one more color... on the the two octaves on the 12th and 24th fret.

The big brother 1976, is waiting for his baby brother 2009...

Mixing red, green and amber is not a problem. Mixing blue with anything else is a major deal. It's possible, but not with the size constraints on your particular bass.

In our email conversation, I wasn't sure if you were talking about the sterling silver rings around the LEDs. Here's what they look like when the LEDs are off:

Let me know if you were referring to something else.

mica

We discussed this by email, but the battery location has to be on the neck, especially in the abbreviated custom body shape on your bass.

toma_hawk01

Keep them all Blue Mica.

Thank you,
